    Thanks for the remembrance!

    Have you ever noticed a parallel between being trans and being a DeadHead? People seem to have the same reaction if you admit to being either of these things, i.e. “really? you don’t look like the kind of person who likes the Grateful Dead”. I tend to remain stealth about both, and I’ve probably heard more disparaging comments about DeadHeads than I have about trans people (although obviously less so as time passes since Jerry’s death).

      I’m an unrepentant old hippie chick, a gone to gray granny hippie who isn’t all that obvious about it. I like folk, outlaw country, California 60s/70s rock and oh yeah the Dead. But not just the Dead but folks like Jessie Colin Young and Credence too.

      I hit the Haight in late 67 and moved to Berkeley in 68.

      The music of my life.
