PHOENIX – Two people were arrested and more than a hundred protesters were separated by police Saturday in downtown Phoenix.

The riot happened Saturday afternoon when the National Socialist Movement began its march in support of Arizona’s controversial immigration law.

“This is not what America stands for,” said one of the protesters.

“They are not welcome in my country,” said another.

ABC15 crews at the march near Jefferson and 8th streets said two dozen neo-Nazis clashed with more than a hundred people who opposed the group.

Police used tear gas to move protesters when rocks were thrown and yelling began between the two groups. Police said several officers and marchers received minor injuries from the rocks.

If Health Risks Were The Real Reason Pot is Illegal Then….

Pot would be Legal and Possession of Tobacco Would be a Felony

Tobacco is one of the most addictive and dangerous substances one can abuse.  More dangerous than pot, more dangerous than acid, more dangerous than most illegal drugs although admittedly safer than many prescription drugs.

There is no safe level of usage.  It is the most addictive substance one can abuse.  All usage of tobacco becomes abuse in short order.

Therefore the Corporations who sell this poison should be considered criminal enterprises and their product should be taxed at a level where the taxes upon it would cover the social costs as well as health care of the people harmed by their product.

It should be highly regulated.  Unlike pot it would be impossible to require a prescription since no legitimate doctor would prescribe this poison.

Cigarette Giants in a Global Fight on Tighter Rules

By DUFF WILSON

As sales to developing nations become ever more important to giant tobacco companies, they are stepping up efforts around the world to fight tough restrictions on the marketing of cigarettes.

Companies like Philip Morris International and British American Tobacco are contesting limits on ads in Britain, bigger health warnings in South America and higher cigarette taxes in the Philippines and Mexico. They are also spending billions on lobbying and marketing campaigns in Africa and Asia, and in one case provided undisclosed financing for TV commercials in Australia.

The industry has ramped up its efforts in advance of a gathering in Uruguay this week of public health officials from 171 nations, who plan to shape guidelines to enforce a global anti-smoking treaty.

This year, Philip Morris International sued the government of Uruguay, saying its tobacco regulations were excessive. World Health Organization officials say the suit represents an effort by the industry to intimidate the country, as well as other nations attending the conference, that are considering strict marketing requirements for tobacco.

Uruguay’s groundbreaking law mandates that health warnings cover 80 percent of cigarette packages. It also limits each brand, like Marlboro, to one package design, so that alternate designs don’t mislead smokers into believing the products inside are less harmful.

The lawsuit against Uruguay, filed at a World Bank affiliate in Washington, seeks unspecified damages for lost profits.

Imagine if Crack Dealers were to sue the DEA for not permitting them to market crack in designer packaging.

So the Tobacco Crime Families are going to another bunch of criminal thugs, the World Bank for help. This is sort of like the Gambino Family asking The Lucchese Family for help in dealing with some government official who needs to be leaned on.

More Catholic Crazy Shit

Yet another case of, I couldn’t make this shit up even back when I used to smoke weed and drop acid.

If you believe this shit you need psychiatric help.

Which generally leads me to thinking that the DSM is more political than scientific since being TS or TG is considered mentally ill while believing in in invisible magic gods and demons isn’t.

For Catholics, Interest in Exorcism Is Revived

By LAURIE GOODSTEIN
Published: November 12, 2010

The rite of exorcism, rendered gory by Hollywood and ridiculed by many modern believers, has largely fallen out of favor in the Roman Catholic Church in the United States.

There are only a handful of priests in the country trained as exorcists, but they say they are overwhelmed with requests from people who fear they are possessed by the Devil.

Now, American bishops are holding a conference on Friday and Saturday to prepare more priests and bishops to respond to the demand. The purpose is not necessarily to revive the practice, the organizers say, but to help Catholic clergy members learn how to distinguish who really needs an exorcism from who really needs a psychiatrist, or perhaps some pastoral care.

“Not everyone who thinks they need an exorcism actually does need one,” said Bishop Thomas J. Paprocki of Springfield, Ill., who organized the conference. “It’s only used in those cases where the Devil is involved in an extraordinary sort of way in terms of actually being in possession of the person.

Becoming a stone atheist as a teenager was one of the best things I ever did in removing insanely irrational oppressive negative forces from my life.

Ceasing to believe in religion or god was a process of asking the question religion is never prepared to answer. Why?

For me it was abuse and unanswered prayers.  Wanting to know why I was considered evil for something I was born.  Wanting to know why I shouldn’t have the same chance to feel whole that others had when science could provide me the opportunity to feel wholeness even if imperfectly.

Then I realized that religion was the reason for so many wars, so much oppression.

Without knowing it I had hit upon my own version of the Epicurean Dilemma.

The seed of doubt was planted in my fertile mind.  Every drop of abuse leveled against women and LGBT/TQ people fed it until it grew into a mighty tree.

No gods, No Masters.

Naked body scanners may be dangerous: scientists

I’m personally getting really fucking tired of giving up my right to not be scanned or searched every single freaking time I turn around.

I want high speed trains so I can tell the monopolistic greed pigs who operate Gray Hound of the Sky to go bugger themselves.

I know I’m supposed to get worked up because it means pre-op/non-op TS/TG people will get outed. But they aren’t special.  It is an unreasonable warrantless search that exposes everyone to the invasion of privacy and radiation.

The “War on Terror” like “The War on Drugs” is really a war on freedom and your Constitutional Rights.  If you are willing to trade your freedom and rights for some sort of sketchy at best “extra security” then you deserve neither freedom and rights nor security.  You are just surrendering to a Police State.  Like peeing in the bottle or sucking the swab for employer mandated drug testing it is just training you to be a willing slave.

WASHINGTON — US scientists warned Friday that the full-body, graphic-image X-ray scanners that are being used to screen passengers and airline crews at airports around the country may be unsafe.

“They say the risk is minimal, but statistically someone is going to get skin cancer from these X-rays,” Dr Michael Love, who runs an X-ray lab at the department of biophysics and biophysical chemistry at Johns Hopkins University school of medicine, told AFP.

“No exposure to X-ray is considered beneficial. We know X-rays are hazardous but we have a situation at the airports where people are so eager to fly that they will risk their lives in this manner,” he said.

The possible health dangers posed by the scanners add to passengers and airline crews’ concerns about the devices, which have been dubbed “naked” scanners because of the graphic image they give of a person’s body, genitalia and all.

A regional airline pilot last month refused to go through one of the scanners, calling it an “assault on my person” and a violation of his right to privacy.
