Are All Republicans Total Racist Bigots?  Or Does It Just Seem That Way?

I can’t for the life of me understand why any woman, LGBT/TQ person, working class person and or person of color would ever vote Republican.  One would have to be stupid to vote for people who have made their political careers based on racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia and class war against the interests of working people.

The Republican candidate for governor, Carl P. Paladino, told a gathering in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on Sunday that children should not be “brainwashed” into thinking that homosexuality was acceptable, and criticized his opponent, Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo, for marching in a gay pride parade earlier this year.

Addressing Orthodox Jewish leaders, Mr. Paladino described his opposition to same-sex marriage.

“I just think my children and your children would be much better off and much more successful getting married and raising a family, and I don’t want them brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option — it isn’t,” he said, reading from a prepared address, according to a video of the event.

And then, to applause at Congregation Shaarei Chaim, he said: “I didn’t march in the gay parade this year — the gay pride parade this year. My opponent did, and that’s not the example we should be showing our children.” Newsday.com reported that Mr. Paladino’s prepared text had included the sentence: “There is nothing to be proud of in being a dysfunctional homosexual.” But Mr. Paladino omitted the sentence in his speech.

About an hour after Mr. Paladino’s remarks, Mr. Cuomo’s campaign released a statement condemning them.

Have you heard about the Tea Bagger Nazi “Re-enacter” from Ohio? His name is Richard Iott and he is the Republican/Tea Bagger candidate for congress in Ohio’s District Nine.

This Reich wing pile of shit likes to play dress up in Nazi drag.  SS Nazi drag to be exact. Now this is one mother fucking sick puppy by any standards imaginable.

I love playing “Call of Duty”  I have all the WW II ones.  When I play that game I like being one of the good guys, especially one of the heroic Soviets fighting to save the Motherland from Nazi bastards.

I do sport shooting at target ranges and go to gun shows.  At one of the big ones there are these guys with this creepy table filled with Nazi crap.  They had one of the Nazi P40 sub machine guns there one time.  I was examining it because it is one of those weapons I scavenge when I get low on ammo while killing Nazis during COD.

When the creeps saw I was interested they asked me what I knew about it and I chirped up.  Well I really like taking that gun off of dead Nazis, when I’m playing “Call of Duty”. Next to the sniper scoped Mosin Nagant it is one of my favorite weapons even though I really get off on splattering Nazi brains with head shots from the Mosin.  I swear they turned whiter than Klan sheets.

Truth be told we owe the heroic Soviets a huge debt for the role they played in defeating Nazism.

Of course one of my favorite movies last year was Tarantino’s,  “Inglorious Basterds”.

To put it mildly… I hate fucking  Nazis!

I get the same creepy feelings towards Civil War re-enacters who play Confederates.  Especially the ones who call it “The War of Northern Aggression.”  I want to say, “No you fucktard, it was The War of Southern Treason” and you started it.  Besides my side won.

It’s like right wing fucktards who try to sugar coat slavery by calling it “The Triangular Trade”.  Or Rush Limbaugh, ‘Some people are just born to be slaves’.

The Republican Party has a disturbing and largely suppressed history of involvement with Nazis and former Nazis and the allies of Nazis. It’s clear from this incident that involvement didn’t die with the cold war and that the continued suppression of history is not a harmless matter of politeness to some of our more powerful people and families. After the crimes of the Nazis were committed and revealed, what might have been merely naive in the 1930s, becomes morally abhorrent.

People who falsify history almost always have a malignant agenda and that agenda almost always favors some form of inequality based on identity. The denial of the history of slavery in New England was essential for the assertion of the superiority of the Anglo-Saxon protestant elite of the 19th and early 20th century. The even more absurd denial of the place of retaining slavery in the Confederate rebellion played an important part in the retention of Jim Crow, semi-slavery well into this century. The lies about the real history of women under patriarchy is about the biggest lie in history.

These lies are perpetuated in novels and theatrical fiction, which are the primary substitute for historical information in the United States. With TV those the presentation of false history as mass entertainment has turned it into powerful propaganda. And those falsifications have a social and political effect. Denying that effect is also a lie, one of the favorite lies of the educated elite today. But causes have effects and so do intentions that can be put into effect. Falsifying the intentions of those who acted in history is essential to denying the effects of their actions. And that falsification can have the same results independent of the intentions of those telling the lies. Falsely romantic tales of the South told by hack writers for Hollywood with no more intent than to get paid have probably done more to perpetuate racism than all of the unreadable academic falsification effort put together. This stuff isn’t harmless.

The designer suit racism, misogyny, and homophobia that has permeated the Republican Party since passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 has always been a major subtext of their platform and ideology.

Since the election of Obama the suit has disappeared and the hatred is out in the open.  Liberals and progressives need name it and prepare themselve to fight against it and defeat it just as the Confederates and Nazis were defeated in the past.

One has to wonder about the twisted minds of people who would not only identify with moral monsters like the Confederacy and Nazism.  Good and decent people need make certain that these causes and people who believe in these cause are never allowed to rise again.

Those of us who survived the abuse do not want for you to kill yourselves.

It is better to live and fight these right wing religious fanatics.  It is better to survive, leave home and go to some place where you will find others like yourself.

You have older sisters and brothers who are your family, even more than your birth family.

We have communities, we even have our own churches where our ministers do not preach hate and death to us.

We have our own politicians who we can work to elect.

We need you for the fight and we too are hurting with each and every new death we hear about.

We are family even when we do not know each other and we care.

A 19-year-old gay man from Oklahoma has taken his own life, and his parents say a hate-filled recent City Council meeting he attended may have driven him over the edge.

Zach Harrington was a talented musician who’d endured years of struggles due to his sexual orientation in high school in conservative Norman, Okla.

On Sept. 28, Harrington attended a three-hour public hearing on a proposal to declare October gay history month in the city. Although the council ultimately approved the proposal, Harrington’s parents described the meeting as potentially “toxic” for their son, a private person who internalized his feelings.

Nikki Harrington, Zach’s older sister, said her brother likely took all of the negative things said about members of the GLBT community straight to heart.

“When he was sitting there, I’m sure he was internalizing everything and analyzing everything … that’s the kind of person he was,” she said. “I’m sure he took it personally. Everything that was said.”

Harrington’s father, Van, said he wasn’t sure why his son went to the meeting, especially after his experiences in Norman once he revealed that he was gay as a teenager. He said he feels his son may have glimpsed a hard reality at the Sept. 28 council meeting, a place where the same sentiments that quietly tormented him in high school were being shouted out and applauded by adults the same age as his own parents.

“I don’t think it was a place where he would hear something to make him feel more accepted by the community,” he said. “For somebody like Zach, it (the meeting) was probably very hard to sit through.”

Zach Harrington committed suicide at his family’s home in Norman seven days after the meeting, yet another apparent victim of anti-gay hate. His parents say they hope the story of his death will make people think twice before they say certain things about their friends and neighbors in public. We’re hoping it will also prompt them to reflect upon the hatred in their hearts.

More than 100 Serbian policemen and civilians were injured and dozens more were arrested in skirmishes that broke out less than a mile from Belgrade’s first gay Pride Parade in nine years.

Police tossed tear-gas canisters to disperse anti-gay protesters and three fire trucks were dispatched to the headquarters of the Democratic party of Serbian President Boris Tadic, where a Molotov cocktail set part of the building on fire. In all, 85 police and more than a dozen civilians were hurt, while 60 protesters were arrested, said Interior Ministry spokeswoman Suzana Vasiljevic.

Gay activists were determined to restart the Pride Parade after giving up plans last year when police warned they could not protect them. The event was seen as a new test of tolerance in Serbia as it seeks to join the European Union. The parade ended in the Belgrade city center without incident as authorities kept the violence confined to another quarter of the capital city.

“It is clear now that this (violence) has nothing to do with the Pride Parade, but represents hatred unseen for quite some time,” Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac told Belgrade television Studio B.
