Earlier this week we reported that U.S. Champion and Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir had been denied a spot on the 2010 ‘Stars on Ice Tour,’ because he is “not family friendly.” We obtained the information from a source who wishes to remain anonymous. In an interview with Access Hollywood on Friday, Weir confirmed that he will be excluded from the tour after tour sponsors deemed him “not family friendly.”
“It’s for real,” Weir said. “I’ve never been invited to do ‘Stars on Ice’ before, which is the only figure skating tour in the U.S. It’s disappointing that I can’t perform for my American fans… all because I’m not ‘family friendly’ enough.”
Following the news GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios issued a statement denouncing Johnny Weir’s rejection from ‘Stars on Ice.’

I love Johnny Weir. I love him for his flamboyance his in your face embrace of sissy, as if male figure skaters could ever be considered butch.
No wonder those who embrace Nazi Family Values hate him. He is giving them the finger just by being himself.
In the 1970s as a feminist I attacked sexism and the idea of sex roles. We didn’t much use “gender” back then, gender is sort of a neo-lib/neo-con meme that says, “Okay you can have equality between the sexes but unless you adhere to gender roles that are inherently unequal and that misogynistically place women in a position of perpetual inferiority then you aren’t real men or real women.”
So now we are “gender transgressive” if we subvert that paradigm. Although the idea of subverting a cultural paradigm being anything other than not caving into the jackboot of misogyny seems less a transgression and more an act of resistance.
Crybaby Glen Beck, a convert to the racist and homophobic religion (sic.) of Mormonism is an insane Nazi putz.
Either that or he is a Nazi apparatchik and a whore out for the all mighty dollar who doesn’t give a shit that the bile he is spewing is un-American and is leading to a second civil war. But people like him never do. The racism, misogyny and homophobia of their message is all that counts. That and their multi-million dollar paycheck.
Never mind the harm they do to the American people while in service to their Corporate Overlords.
I listened as this man spewed both misogyny and racism at the two front running contenders for the Democratic Party nomination. After it became apparent Obama was our candidate and was going to be the first black president Beck opened the flood gate of racist allegations.
Beck is an American Goebbels posing on the cover of his book while wearing a uniform that could have easily been one of the uniforms worn by the Nazi Minister of Propaganda. Oh Glen, cry me a river. What a nasty vile putz you are.
Why am I going after this worthless piece of dog shit right now?
Well in the last couple of days the stench of sewage stream pouring forth from Beck’s mouth has gotten so rank it is hard to ignore. So like a shit throwing baboon in the zoo this clown has forced me to pay some attention to him as well as to add another link, “Media Matters“.
In the last couple of days Beck has attacked the only churches left that I would consider a reasonable choice for those who remain believers. He told people that if their ministers or rabbis preach “social justice” then they should leave their churches and find conservative ones.
Conservatives hate social justice. One can not be a conservative and believe in equality or justice for anyone but the rich white straight male conservatives. They call their ideology “family values.”
Then he attacked Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA”. Too working class, too American, too real to support Beck’s Nazioid wet dreams.
I urge everyone to join the boycott of anyone who sponsors this clown’s dog and pony show.

Tonight we watched a DVD of a movie I bought earlier this week, Food Inc. They showed a clip from it the night of the Oscars and what caught my attention was the cruelty involved in the factory farming that produces so much of our meat.
Now as I have said before I work in a big box store and I read food labels as well as try to keep up on some of the issues regarding the connection between food and health. I know certain things like trans-fats and high levels of sodium are bad for you.
I’ll go a step further I think Bovine Growth Hormones and lots of antibiotics in milk are bad for you and that if you consume milk finding milk labeled “No BGH” is a good idea and that organic is probably even better.
One thing about reading labels is that you notice there are actually very few individual companies out there marketing food. In fact companies like Cargill and Archer, Daniels, Midland seem to own a lot of product lines that used to be individual companies. As far as I am concerned monopoly capitalism isn’t capitalism it is just monopolization.
Earlier this week Tina and I watched a Doctor on the local PBS Begathon extol the benefits of a vegan diet.
When we came to Texas we learned that BBQs and certain other restaurants serve something described as a 3 meat combo platter. My response to that one was, “Meat is not a side for meat, y’all might just want to scarf some veggies with that.
We actually probably eat better than many folks here do. Obesity is rampant across the country and even more so in the south and Texas.
It isn’t will power alone or lack of personal responsibility. HFC, High Fructose Corn syrup is in half or more of what we eat and other sugars are in the rest.
I have to wonder what role eating this crap plays in all the obesity and diabetes?
I also learned another word this week, “flexitarian”. Sort of part time vegetarian, more omnivore than vegan but less meat intensive than typical.
I know one thing I’ve decided to become far more picky about chickens and where they come from. Another thing… We got a meat grinder a few years ago and I think maybe breaking it out and grinding our own beef or pork when the burger urge hits.
I have a feeling that this is going to become an on-going topic.
I recommend people go to: http://www.foodincmovie.com/ as well as check out the books of Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser.
