Jasper Gregory

There is a misogynistic dick trying to make a name for hmself by running around claiming to be a lesbian.  Of course he also claims to be “transgender” without showing any signs of living 24/7/365 as a member of the sex not commonly associated with his current genitals.  Perhaps he is female bodied in which case he has the misogynistic pig part of maleness down perfectly.

Misogyny is present when ever a male presumes to speak for women and tell women what they should do and how they should do it.  This is why most religions are inherently misogynistic.

In the case of Mister Gregory there seems to be an added layer of sexist delusion in that he claims to be a lesbian.  Again existential actions speak louder than words.  Mister Gregory displays no outward signs of being transgender therefore he is not.  You see I will allow that both pre-SRS people with transsexualism and people with transgenderism have complex lives and labeling them heterosexual or homosexual is not as simple as it is with cis-sexual folks.  Many of us are in hetrogendered or homogendered relationships prior to SRS than may techically based solely on genitals be considered homosexual or heterosexual when viewed by so-called “objective” observers.

But once again actions speak louder than words and Jasper has a collection of photos that show him to be a sort of creapy pervert exercising the male gaze in a manner that constitutes a virtual visual rape of the women he objectifies.

He tells actual WBTs and transgender folks they should live like him and be out without actually doing with our lives that which defines one as transsexual or transgender.  In that he is like the fucked up Catholic priests who tried to convince me I was a mortal sinner and should enter the priesthood and a life of denial rather tthan deal with having been born with transsexualism by having SRS.

I personally think we should exclude this misogynistic pig from further discussion or speak of him in the terms generaly reserved for that similar specimen of San Francisco dickwaddery, Michael Savage.

Put up or STFU, Jasper.  Real people with transsexualism or transgenderism commit their lives and bodies to it.  They aren’t just internet frauds espousing sexist bullshit.

I have to disagree with a single point.

Misogyny is not necessarily present whenever a man presumes to speak for a woman or women.

    That’s better termed appropriation.

Nor necessarily when telling a woman what she should do and how she should do it.

If that were the case, then no man’s advice or consideration could ever possibly be anything but misogyny. IT would actively eradicate the existence of men who are feminists or allied. And that’s not the case.

Indeed — without meaning to offend you, that’s a sexist statement, in a very literally sense. Not misandry, though, merely sexist.

I also have to point out that a stereotypical member of Tri-Ess doesn’t really put their bodies into it, although they absolutely put their lives into it.

My only problems with Jasper are his ignorance of what he speaks about, the manner in which he speaks it, and the fact that he’s a political liability — the physical being that our opponents need to “prove” the worst.

I’m a feminist with a serious distrust of all men. I think most men are misogynistic to a greater or lesser extent. In the case of Jasper to a greater rather than lesser.

It is not reverse discrimination to distrust or dislike the oppressor if one is of the oppressed class, it is common sense. Particularly when men use every tool at their disposal to oppress women. But don’t get me started because it is to easy for me to channel the wrath like spirit of Valerie Solanis or Aileen Wuornos.

I suspect there is more to know about Jasper Gregory. His clear attempt to redefine everyone as satellites orbiting around his central conceit, combined with a penchant for street theater, suggests he has some hidden priorities.

For me, he comes off as another male bossing around women to live out his fantasies.

Dude, I don’t play games with misogynistic dickwads.

You aren’t even transgender and women don’t have beards and dicks.

    Jasper,
You leave out the most important of Suzan’s comments:
“He tells actual WBTs and transgender folks they should live like him and be out without actually doing with our lives that which defines one as transsexual or transgender. ”
This is surely the biggest problem for most of your critics – that you are telling other trans people how to live their lives and that the desire for GRS is some sort of false consciousness.
You don’t need to do this in order to enlarge the culturally intelligible space for gender variant somatic males like yourself (or myself for that matter).
Whatever labels you want to use, people who have a strongly felt need to alter their bodies to suit their gender identity have a quite different life experience to those who don’t. And again, people who feel the need to transition socially but not physically are different to people who don’t feel any need to transition.
Rather than focusing your fire on people who identify as transsexual and don’t want to be subsumed under the transgender umbrella, how about commenting on the attacks from actual right wingers – the loonies who oppose health care reform because it is socialism and might conceivably cover GRS; the attacks on Caster Semenya’s right to compete against other women come to moind as immediately topical.
Effective politics is about recognising differences and making alliances, not attacking those who could be allies.
You have a very aggressive style of writing – constantly attacking other people’s views. So your recent plea for the authenticity of your womanhood seems a little odd in the context of your overall gender abolitionist approach. It appears to be a purely rhetorical device to attack people.
Also – your comments seem generally ill informed and lacking in much evidence of research.
In terms of passing, please read Sandy Stone’s Post Transsexual Manifesto – the original point for much Transgender theorising, but which is actually saying to transsexual people that they should voluntarily drop the privilege of passsing in order to ‘read themselves into the culture’. It also has the important reminder about ‘totalizing” accounts of trans, when she “speaks the forgotten word … The word is some.” All accounts of gender variant expereince are partial – no-one can speak for all the others, much less lay down how they should live their lives.
