It doesn't matter much if your therapist from back in "those day" when ever those days were was a good one.

I've known great counselors with no degrees who became worse as they got their degrees and had their head stuffed with nonsense.

Some of these places may actually have been good at one point and have been hijacked by the right. This appears to be up there with Liberty, Bob Jones etc in turning out right wing bigot apparatchiks.

Suzan, have you checked this out yourself? My own therapist from back in "those days" did get a PhD from IASHS (she also has a MSW from a big name university) and from her description of her experiences there, it's anything but unearned. They worked her butt off. They require a dissertation and credits earned on campus as well, so they are not a true "diploma mill" by the Wikipedia definition. They may well be unaccredited, and it's certainly true (and easily verified) that a lot of the upper level names there have only in-house credentials, but that does not necessarily make them a fraud. My former therapist, by the way, is HIGHLY competent and has an outstanding reputation in this area, and is on Becky Allison's recommended list.
